Prologue (The Waste Heat of the Beginning)

Mistranslation notable JA p.11
ENTHE WASTE HEAT OF THE BEGINNING
Lit.THE REMAINING HEAT OF THE BEGINNING

"余熱" implies that this heat is the last embers of life of Subaru's life, and does not imply that this heat is wasted.

Tone & register minor JA p.11
ENFeeling the hard texture of the ground against his face, he realized that he had fallen facedown on the ground.
Lit.As he tasted the feeling of the bare earth, he realized he was lying facedown on it.

Not much to note here, but the literal translation has less repetition and flows a bit better.

Addition minor JA p.11
ENHe couldn't move, even when he tried, and he already couldn't feel his fingers
Lit.He couldn't exert any strength, and already couldn't feel his fingers

This is mostly semantics, but still worth noting.

Localization minor JA p.11
ENHe coughed and vomited the blood he felt rising in his throat — the source of his waning life.
Lit.Coughing violently, he spit out the blood which was the origin of life to his heart's content.

This sentence is really awkward when translated directly, but the localization neglects that Subaru is almost taking pleasure in spitting out this blood despite it being "the source" of his life. Interesting contrast is being skipped here in other words.
